Biography
Teresa has studied piano since the age of 3 under the tutelage of Mrs. Mo Hang Sim, Mrs. Jocelyn Emptage, Mr. Graeme Humphrey, Mrs. Rena Phua. Mr. Leonel Morales, Ms. Julie Kuok and is the recipient of many distinguished piano performance certificates, including LTCL in piano recital & ATCL in piano recital (distinction).
Teresa enjoys piano performing and has performed in solo concert and duet competitions. She was awarded the Senior Recital Class - Cash Prize (Given by Mr & Mrs K Emptage), Ann Worden Trophy - Best Musician and Thelma Springford Award for Accompaniment during Thanet Music and Drama Festival in 2003, 2004 & 2006.
Teresa also enjoys piano teaching and has more than 10 years of experience in piano teaching, teaching students of all age ranges from kids to adults. 100% of her students achieved a Merit or above in the ABRSM examination. Her teaching style focuses on helping each student to build good basic skill and sight-reading ability, improve the students' musical accomplishment and music appreciation ability, tailor-made the teaching plan to suit the ability of each student.
Outside piano, Teresa is a scientist working and teaching in the Hong Kong Baptist University. She was graduated at Imperial College London, Cambridge University and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology.
